Dr. Bernard Gross
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Bernard Gross has been caring for the children of Santa Monica since 1992, bringing a warm, modern approach to pediatric dentistry that puts both kids and parents at ease. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Gross finished high school in West LA before completing his undergraduate studies at UCLA, earning a BS in Biology, and going on to receive his DDS from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed a two-year hospital-based pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and USC School of Dentistry, graduating as Chief Resident.
Dr. Gross is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry — a distinction held by only a select group of pediatric dentists, requiring an accredited residency, proven clinical experience, and rigorous written and oral examinations. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy.
A firm believer in modern, minimally invasive dentistry, Dr. Gross takes the gentlest and most conservative approach possible to keep young smiles healthy — focusing on prevention and early intervention rather than unnecessary or aggressive treatment. He sees patients from infancy through the college years, building long-term relationships with families along the way.
Beyond his practice, Dr. Gross has taught pediatric dental residents at UCLA and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, served as Chairperson of the California Society of Pediatric Dentists’ Statewide Peer Review Committee, and volunteered his time treating patients in need through Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital.
In his spare time Dr. Gross enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, plays golf badly, and trumpet even worse! He loves to spend time with his wife.
Dr. Gross genuinely loves what he does — and the families who have trusted him with their children’s smiles for decades are a testament to that.
